Description
Italy. A dog in a kennel waiting to find a new family to start a fresh life. Abandonment is the most distressing condition for a pet: the dog, always considered man’s best friend, often sees the total loyalty it places in its owner betrayed. Abandonment thus turns into a deep wound and a system of confinement that reflects structural shortcomings, institutional indifference, and the vulnerabilities of regions most exposed to administrative neglect, exposing the failure of a society incapable of protecting one of the oldest bonds between man and dog. This image is part of an extensive documentary photo reportage shot inside various facilities in Italy, aimed at exploring the hidden reality and living conditions inside kennels.
